„Alcohol problems prevention in the penitentiary system” is an incredibly engaging monograph edited by prof. AoJ, dr hab Krzysztof A. Wojcieszek. This book proposes a broader approach to alcohol problems rather than to consider them only in terms of ethanol addiction. It draws attention to a wide range of damage that even recreational consumption of high-percentage drinks can cause: health, social and image. It also makes clear to the reader that therapeutic or preventive measures for people with alcohol problems are not a magic method that automatically solves all the difficulties, but is intended to systematically reduce the risk of potential losses that these people may incur. The contents of the monograph contain suggestions of tools and actions that can be used to support the prevention of alcohol problems in the penitentiary system, presenting alcohol as an important factor for returning to crime.

The book was published by the DIG Publishing House in Warsaw, as part of a project called "Pilot penitentiary complexes" carried out under the operational programme ‘Justice’ financed by both Norwegian and national funds
