On may 13, 2022, the last group of students took the final examination, ending the learning and training process for Post-graduate studies in the Penitentiary Science for the candidates for the commissioned-officers of the Prison Service, carried out by the Academy of Justice. The participants of the studies, which started in August last year, were able to extend their competences necessary for the managerial staff of the Prison Service.
The educational offer in the academic year 2021/2022 covered several issues, such as professional pragmatics, penitentiary law or management. Not only did the students consolidate the necessary theoretical knowledge, they also developed practical skills such as first-aid, proper use of service weapons and use of intervention techniques. The training was executed under the watchful eye of the Academy of Justice’s skilled teaching staff, willing to provide valuable advice and guidance, as well as to share experience. The teaching base for the students was the Academy of Justice’s uniformed campus in Kalisz, along with all its extensive specialist equipment, as well as the building of the former correctional facility. Upon passing the Commissioned-officers corps entry exam, the graduates will will be promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant of the Prison Service.
Postgraduate studies in Penitentiary Science for the candidates for the commissioned-officers of the Prison Service were carried out under the project called Pilot Penitentiary Complexes under Justice Programme financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
