On December 7, 2021, Correctional Facility in Barczewo was visited by the representatives of the Central Board of the Prison Service in Warsaw accompanied by their Norwegian counterparts. Upon the arrival at the establishment, the guests were greeted by the Facility Governor Col. Marek Kulwicki, and then shown to the establishment’s premises, particularly the changes in the execution of the custodial punishment conditions, such as dormitories in a 200-year-old building, as well as the 2008 building. The guests could also see the new correctional facility, which is due to be put into service soon.

An important issue was the familiarization of Norwegian prison staff with the technical and protective measures applied to ensure safety and order in the local unit and the operation and specificity of the plant. Visits by foreign guests allow for the exchange of knowledge and experience, which translates into the quality of the correctional impact in terms of penitentiary work and other solutions.
